THE LISTENING PROGRAM™ (TLP)

Picture
WHAT Is It? Based upon the work of Dr. Alfred Tomatis, The Listening Program™ is a personalized sound stimulation program that naturally enhances function of the ear and brain. The basic program consists of eight to ten compact discs (CDs) engineered with classical music selections and nature sounds.

WHEN Is It Used? The DETP® is the starting point for determining which sound-based therapy is appropriate. The Listening Program is recommended when need is demonstrated by the DETP® or when other developmental and foundational skills are established.

WHY Might I Use It? The Listening Program™ is used to enhance perception of full spectrum sound, to engage active listening and to assist in integrating auditory function of the ear and brain. It helps the listener develop listening skills to their fullest. Positive changes have been reported with language skills, balance and coordination, attention, auditory comprehension, vocal quality, following directions, and more.

WHERE Is It Offered? The Listening Program™ is utilized in the comfort of your home or with your therapist. Programs are chosen by The Davis Center staff that most appropriately support the individual’s functioning. Ms. Davis may be able to offer this program or refer you to a local practitioner.
