Every Day A Miracle

Every Day A Miracle is the ultimate testimonial for sound-based therapy! Read one of these 16 heart warming stories of success each yearly quarter

Latest Testimonial: June 2016

Hello!  It was recommended to me by a Neurofeedback practitioner to meet with Dorinne Davis for my son’s needs - an erratic immune system and cognitive/learning issues resulting from TBI (traumatic brain injury).  My son had a life threatening milk allergy from six months old until five years old, and a resulting cognitive and Auditory Processing Disorder following a series of random concussions.  To clarify, he had an unsupervised sledding accident in 3rd grade where we didn’t know how significant the head injury/concussion was, so it didn’t get treated or heal properly, making him prone to lower impact concussions, resulting in “accumulated” five concussions before going to the Concussion Clinic at Upstate three years after the first hit for treatment.
I cannot stress the importance and ultimate cost effectiveness of DETP (Diagnostic Evaluation for Therapy Protocol) – where the order of treatment determines its efficacy.  We spent tens, and tens, and tens of thousands of dollars for treatments and tutoring which were in the wrong order, and treatments not provided correctly.  The providers Dorinne Davis refers to know how to provide therapy in the correct and effective manner, in the orders Ms. Davis recommends.  We are having to repeat treatments we did prior to coming to The Davis Center, not because they don’t work, but because his body and central nervous system weren’t in a place to handle those treatments at the time.  After his DETP, he started using BioAcoustics, “tones”, for 15 minutes before bed and 15 minutes before getting up to start his day – this helped calm his nervous system from my perspective.  We started seeing calming in him within a week, and progressive improvements continued.  We started recognizing our son again and our family stress level progressively improved.   I was very concerned my son wouldn’t follow through and it would be a fight to use “tones” two times per day.  It was like his body craved it, and he was drawn to doing his “tones” shortly after initiating use.  After about 10 weeks, my son went on an overnight trip and didn’t bring/do his “tones” for 2 consecutive sessions - the behavior regression was astonishing!  When we witnessed his regression, we realized amazingly how far he had come in those 10 weeks ~ we had him do 2 tone sessions and, voila, we were back on track.  He mentioned to us “Wow, I just didn’t feel like myself, it was horrible!” This type of situation happened 3 times after he missed his “tones.”  Three great things came from missing “tones”.   We learned to make sure you do as prescribed two times every day until the treatment is complete– so remember to pack them for  overnights, camp outs, and vacations.  Second, my son wasn’t becoming someone else from these treatments, he was becoming who he really IS.  The third gift of these experiences were my husband’s buy in for The Davis Center.  My husband does not have an “alternative” or “progressive” bone in his body, but after firsthand experience of stopping the calming and “reset” nature of BioAcoustics, my husband says firmly – “I will put my money with The Davis Center, it works – my son’s improvements are evident in school, friendships, and home dynamics”.
The effects of long term stress (trying to keep a young child alive with severe food allergy and Celiac Disease (gluten), then the devastating effects of head injury and the road to recovery) took a huge toll on me as a mother, wife and friend.  I also went through DETP, and BioAcoustics was recommended.  Though I do not have regression behaviors if I miss using my “tones”, I try hard not to miss a session because I love who I have become – me, but better – more peaceful and calm, more patient, more productive, more effective … and much happier!
We have followed The Davis Center protocols, and my son has done further treatment recommendations with great success … now he has more freedom, more friends and more time to do what he wants because he has overcome so much!!!
I focused only on BioAcoustics in this letter to keep it to one page. Working with The Davis Center is the most cost effective, effective and efficient approach to get your family objectives met - and this is why she is the world’s leader!!

Berard Auditory Integration Training (AIT)
Do not ever give up on what you do!!! It is takes a special person as yourself to care & understand and really want to help others succeed. You were the first person that made a difference in Jess. A.I.T made me a believer. It was the first time Jess actual heard her voice. I will never forget that as long as I live. I could never imagine that Jess was unable to hear her voice from birth until she was 7/8yrs old when she did A.I.T. That is a long time not being able to process!!! Do not ever give up. You made me a believer & wanting to come back with confidence that Jess will succeed again. Thank you for believing in what you do and what you do for others.... I thank God each day for people as yourself who have been blessed with a gift in helping others. - Kathy R.

"My only expectation of AIT initially was to help my daughter with her sound sensitivity and possibly change/enhance her processing skills in the future. I did not expect any positive, discernible results right away. Was I in for a surprise! By the second day of AIT there was an undeniable increase in Alicia's eye contact! I must say that if there was one thing I could have wished for as a result of AIT it would have been increased eye contact, but I hadn't dared to wish." - Linda M. parent of child with Autism

"There is no doubt in my mind AIT has changed my son's life. My son has developed socialization, happiness and increased speech. Everything is starting to come together. I can't thank The Davis Center enough." - Joni J. parent of child with Autism

"Today, Matt is ten and a half years old. He has been attending a Friends School for six years and he is doing really well. If it has not been for a mother's intuition and for Auditory Integration Training, I feel my child would be a "vegetable" rather than the special boy I know and love very much." - Debbie S. parent of child with Autism

“He has become more outgoing and willing to socialize with his peers, became more affectionate, volunteered to go first to do an oral report (He got a 98), sat for 1 1/2 hours & spoke to his grandmother - he usually hides, doesn't say "what?" as much.”
(Berard Auditory Integration Training (AIT))

After AIT and Enlisten this dad says, “Thanks for everything! Our son, though he is babbling incessantly, is saying some very self directed things and a major shift in his being is very obvious... absolutely no hesitation that your work has a significant effect in reorganizing the language center of the brain. Even his approach to doing puzzles went from starting in one spot and working outward to getting all perimeter pieces in place first and then working on the center. That is a very organizational concept! He is really trying to organize his language and is constantly coming out with original statements.”

General Therapies
"Our son has been doing REALLY WELL! He is now using the bathroom independently, Hooray! While he still has some constipation issues he is in much less discomfort and is able to communicate his needs and manage himself like a typical 5 year old."

"She is showing gains in her social interaction and play but she still has work to do in this area. Most significantly, she is doing well academically, doing very well with spelling in particular."

"He has become quite playful and spunky and his personality is really beginning to show. We have really seen changes in his social development. He is more alert, present, interactive, motivated, participatory, confident and interested. His eye contact continues to improve and his attention span continues to increase."

"He is much louder now and people comment that his speech is much clearer for them to understand. I would say he is loud in a more typical way for a boy, like his brother, but sometimes we still have to remind him to speak louder or not to speak so loudly. We have noticed that he is no longer using a monotone voice on the microphone like when he first started the microphone part of the therapy. His speech now has a better rhythm and tone and sounds more conversational"

"He joined some boys in leaping like a frog on the playground and in the class room enjoyed being tickled and hugged by some of the girls. He was also calling some of the kids by name. Yippee! My greatest concern has been that he would always be alone, but no more."

"Some sensory issues are being resolved - Last night, for the first time ever he shivered and said that he felt cold."
