Developmental Delay
Sound-based therapy supports change in clients with developmental delays who have:
o Hypersensitivity and Hyposensitivity to all sensory stimulation: hearing, touch, smell, vision, and taste
o Auditory processing
o Vestibular imbalances
o Balance/coordination
o Muscle tone
o Oral motor issues
o Receptive and expressive language
o Movement and rhythm
o Phoneme awareness
o Early development skills
o Eye contact
o Listening skills
o Attention/focus
o Handwriting
o Posture
o Fine motor skills
o Gross motor skills
o Determination of body imbalances related to: Metal toxicities, vaccination responses, biochemical issues, nutritional weaknesses, muscle tone
About Sound Therapy:
Sound-based therapy involves the use of sound vibration that impacts the body using special equipment, programs, modified music, and/or specific tones/beats, the need for which is identified with appropriate testing.
About Developmental Delay:
Developmental Delay is a term used when a child does not reach the expected developmental milestones such as speaking, crawling or walking, at the usual time. Developmental Delay may or may not indicate a long term developmental disorder as most children recover from the delay.
Ms. Davis will be referring to practitioners for most of the sound-based therapies identified as needed within her DETP®. Therapies which may be identified as being needed are:
Berard AIT, FST, EnListen® , Tomatis®, Fast ForWord™, Interactive Metronome™, BioAcoustics, and/or Cymatheraoy. Ms. Davis will only be administering BioAcoustics and Cymatherapy in her semi-retirement.
Therapies are only suggested after completing the Diagnostic Evaluation for Therapy Protocol (DETP®) which determines if any sound-based therapy is appropriate and when it is, in the correct order. We utilize The Davis Model of Sound Intervention®.
